Hi guys

I want to learn webmethods. I am trying to find a website where I can download webmethods trial software and documentation for free?

Are there any books available on webmethods?

Such a site does not exist. You need to work with a webMethods rep to arrange a trial.

There are no books that I know of.

There is no site available YET. Sometime in July, webMethods will release a free 60-day evaluation of software demonstrating their web services capabilities. The download will consist of Integration Server v4,6, some adapters, and also some fresh-from-the-lab web services stuff not available in the v4.6 GA release.

As soon as I get more information about the evaluation software, I will be sure to let everybody know.

Is it still under construction or is it available for use...in some site which we all do not know...

I have webmethods software files with me. I need to evaluate the software. Where can I start. Intallation seems to be very big process, can you guide me in putting things together?

If you have are evaluating the software and you would like to know the best approach why don't take a look at http://advantage.webmethods.com, which have excellent documentation about the product. Also you can contact support@webmethods.com, because webMethods does have a world class supportdesk.

Shyam, but you must be a customer or partner to access WebMethods Advantage. This does not help potential customers. Presumably venkatr is a real customer, otherwise he would not have the software.

You'll find lots of information on webMethods products here, but no software is available for download. The documentation is available from webMethods Advantage but you'll need to work for a webMethods customer or partner to access that site (or have an existing certification).

There is a free version of webMethods Glue, which can be downloaded from http://www.webmethods.com. It does not have facilities like the Integration Server component has (adapters, mapping and business process engines), but getting hands on with some of the Web service features of Glue Standard is a start.

There is a webMethods development site in Bangalore, which I bet will be involved in hosting training. Check out the education section of http://www.webmethods.com for schedules and if you don't see what you need, send them an email - the best way to get something scheduled is to let Education Services know there is interest.
