WebMethods support

webMethods seems to be getting popular in the UK but does anyone who where I can find webMethods jobs or any UK based forums.

Caroline, I am not sure how to find UK-based jobs other than searching Job Boards and the webMethods User Community Job Opportunities. To date, we have had only U.S. postings, but that could change as webMethods picks up steam in the UK as you say.

Regarding Internet forums, there are two resources that I publically support -- this one and webMethods Advantage. If you do not have access to webMethods Advantage, ask your webMethods Sales Representative for more information. There are some other forums out there, too, but most of them have strict moderation policies that is more geared towards protecting conversation than fostering it.

If you are interested in offline discussions (i.e. local User Groups), visit the contact page (http://www.wmusers.com/common/contact.shtml) and send an email to the User Groups email address. webMethods actively supports local User Groups and it would be very nice to have a UK-based User Group; I am sure that there are others like you having the same thoughts.

There are several USENET newsgroups that receive crossposts from placement firms in the UK.

Here are the group names:

uk.jobs.contract
misc.jobs.contract
uk.jobs.offered
misc.jobs.misc


You can search USENET Newsgroups on GOOGLE. The postings on USENET usually specifies the Location (Dublin, Ireland).

Also, here is a copy of an OLD post from USENET that is dated 14 DEC 2001. I'm sure the post is filled by now, but it will give you something to look at.

Personally, I have had no luck with developing job leads from USENET. I have had great experience from contacts derived from this web site.
