Error while configuring the OracleApps adapter connection

i am trying to connect to the Oracle apps application using the Webmethods oracleApps adapters.For that i have configured the adapter connection, while enabling the connection , it is giving me the following error...

Adapter Runtime (Connection): Unable to configure connection manager.
Connected to database on oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource with
(17002) Io exception: Got minus one from a read call
Io exception: Got minus one from a read call

to add on to the above problem....
i am using OracleApps database 9.0.2 on the server and Oracle 9i on my client m/c.
I have checked the server classpath...
it has entry :::
C:\webM6_1\IntegrationServer\lib\jars\classes12.zip

Can somebody suggest what kind of problem it is?

I'm getting similar problem randomly when i try to connect to an oracle DB from webmethods DB adapter

If we do a reset cache on the services from the admin console, this starts working!!! Can someone let me know as to what might be the reason?
