EDI Validation Errors

I am working on an outbound X12 810 transaction. I have mapped only the segments the customer requires. But I seem to be getting validation errors for all segments that I have not mapped even though they are not mandatory according to the ANSI standard. Is there something I need to turn off or on. I'm running B2B Server 4.0.2
