Most organizations today are moving steadily toward implementing a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for standards-based software interoperability. However, SOA projects are significantly delayed or fail due to the challenges of making data accessible and interoperable. With Web services and enterprise service buses (ESBs), we have tackled some of the basic connectivity problems, but data is still not in a form that can be used.
